AuckLUG as we know it today started as the Auckland LEGO Train Group, so what better way to remember our past, than with a train build?
The TranzAlpine is one of the world's great rail journeys. Crossing the South Island from Christchurch to Greymouth this five hour journey traverses the Southern Alps and the Canterbury Plains. In this build we see the locomotive and rolling stock as it crosses the Waimakariri River.
This build was created by AuckLUG's webmaster Alex Burgess. Alex is a rail enthusiast, builds fabulous displays with trains, and gets to play with real steam trains at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway.
Alex is the other half of a great team with Casey-Anne Burgess, and is one of the few people who can get away with calling her "ducky".
